Our GitHub Speaks Now: The Automatic Developer Podcast 🎙️

The development of Blocks Beyond The Stars happens completely in the open on GitHub — every commit, every pull request, every release is there to read. But let's be honest: who scrolls through a commit list in the evening? From now on there's a more comfortable option: you can simply have the project news read out to you. Our GitHub now has its own podcast.

What is Podlog? Podlog is a service that watches a GitHub repository and automatically turns it into an audio podcast. You connect your project, and from then on an AI summarizes the activity and a synthetic narrator reads it out as a short episode. For a project like ours, "100% built with AI" from day one, this feels almost inevitable: now even the reporting about the development is handled by an AI.

What's in an episode. The podcast sums up what happened in the repository: new commits, merged pull requests, releases, and the discussions in issues — as an understandable narrative instead of a raw change list. Instead of "47 files changed" you hear what actually changed for the game.

Fully automatic — and in English. Good to know: we don't record anything ourselves. Every episode is generated completely automatically, without us speaking or editing a single line. And since our repository is documented in English throughout, the podcast is in English too — the German summaries will continue to appear here on the devblog.

Subscribe daily or weekly. The public podcast page offers two RSS feeds: a daily one for everyone who wants to stay really close, and a weekly one for a relaxed recap. Both can be subscribed to in any podcast app. And one honest note: an episode only appears when there is something to tell — on quiet days without notable repository activity, there simply is no new episode.
