Version 0.8 launched at midnight — and of course we stuck around to watch the first visitors try to step into the arcade on glitch.fun. The result: the door was jammed. 😅 Anyone opening a fresh browser session got turned away with "could not be verified" and never even reached a world. So we shipped a small but crucial patch that same night.

The main culprit was a swapped order: our arcade gateway tried to validate a visitor with Glitch first and register them second — but Glitch expects it exactly the other way around (create first, then validate). The order is fixed now, and a test keeps watch so it can never flip again. Two more stumbling blocks came along for the ride: the browser actually loads the game files from Glitch's own storage bucket (not from play.glitch.fun) — our security allowlist didn't know that address yet, so the browser blocked the arcade requests outright. And the arcade worlds never fall asleep anymore: they run permanently, get woken at startup and are automatically brought back up if one ever crashes — so a visitor lands in a running world instead of a cold wait. 🕹️

Part of the wider 0.8 family, but worth noting here for completeness: the F1 feedback button now works in the browser too, and your feedback lands in our own inbox (more on that in the big 0.8 post next door). In short: the arcade is truly open now — enjoy dropping in! 🚀
