Version 0.8.2 – The Arcade Recognizes You Again 🕹️

A small but important update for everyone visiting us on glitch.fun: if you had played in the arcade worlds before, our last update suddenly rejected you with "The name belongs to another player" — over your own name! The reason was technically sneaky: the browser storage holding your name credential gets wiped by the platform with every game update we ship. Afterwards the game took you for a stranger trying to steal your name. 🕵️

As of version 0.8.2 your arcade identity is tied to your Glitch install itself instead of the browser — the arcade recognizes you in any browser, no matter how many updates we release. One more thing: the name field in the main menu now actually works on glitch.fun — type a name there and you'll play under it (the little recognition suffix stays, so every name remains unique).
