This week we measured instead of guessing: a new benchmark tool boots the game automatically, walks across a freshly generated planet for a full minute and records how long every single frame took. Then we kept tuning until the numbers looked right. 📊

The stutter while exploring is gone. As you walk, the game constantly assembles new pieces of the world — and until now that produced so much memory garbage that the cleanup automation shouted "stop!" about 25 times per second. Those micro-pauses were exactly the stutters you felt. The building blocks are now reused instead of thrown away, and the collision math merges thousands of tiny surfaces into a few big ones: on our test laptop, the worst frame in a full minute of walking dropped from 61 to 26 milliseconds — not a single hitch left. 🚀

Weaker machines benefit the most. The graphics presets secretly kept anti-aliasing and HDR running at full tilt — even on "Potato". Now they truly scale: on "Low", our test machine jumped from 72 to 97 frames per second. And the holographic visor HUD, which used to render a second full-screen camera on every preset, only treats itself to that from "Medium" upwards — below that you get the same HUD, just flat and cheap.

Browser players get the world delivered about 20x smaller. World data now travels cleverly compressed — 15–25 KB per world piece shrinks to usually a few hundred bytes. On glitch.fun that means faster joins into the arcade worlds and a faster first picture in browser singleplayer.

One quick update, please! Because the network language changed, old game versions and updated servers no longer understand each other — you'll get a friendly update prompt when joining. The launcher updates automatically as always, the browser is always current anyway, and singleplayer isn't affected at all. Also new: crash reports and F1 feedback from singleplayer now actually reach our inbox — before, they quietly sat on your hard drive. 📮

Have fun exploring (more smoothly)! ✨
