Until now, a cliff was the end of the road – unless you had a ladder, a jetpack or a stack of blocks with you. 🧱 From now on you can climb any solid wall: cliffs, canyon walls, tree trunks or the side of a house, on planets, moons and asteroids. 🧗 Here's how: jump at the wall and keep pushing towards it – and you hold on. Keep pushing towards the wall (or hold Jump) and you climb up, pull away and you climb down, and you can move sideways too. Crouch lets go. At the top you pull yourself over the edge on your own, and that gets you over walls two blocks high now too: run, jump, keep pushing. Ladders, by the way, work exactly as before.

💪 Climbing is hard work, though. There is no bar for it – you feel it: first you slow down, then your view trembles and you breathe hard, and when your strength is gone you slide down slowly (never fast enough to hurt). Back on the ground or on a ladder, you're fit again in a moment. On a normal planet you make it about 20 blocks up, on an asteroid roughly twice as far, on heavy worlds less. Rock, earth, wood and building blocks hold you, glass is too smooth, ice only holds with claws, and on sand, snow and ash your hands tire twice as fast. 🧤 If you want to get higher, research the climbing gloves and later the climbing claws – with those, even ice holds you like rock. And since mining and building work on the wall too, that vein of ore in the middle of the cliff is in reach now. ⛏️ Other players see you climb hand over hand, and anyone going up a ladder no longer looks to everyone else as if they were jumping.

🌳 And while we're at the trees: you now walk straight through tree crowns, just like through grass and ferns – through leaves, needles, palm fronds, the giant trees and Sophie's Fifi plant. The trunks stay solid, so you can still climb them. You can still hide in a crown, too, and birds now fly around every kind of tree instead of bouncing off pines and palms. 🐦

🌐 In the browser, the first start after an update didn't go smoothly: while the game was downloading its data again, ghost images stayed on the screen – a closed "What's new?" window, the loading screen and dialogs on top of each other on a black background. And if you wanted to start a new world right away, you got "The world could not be started in this browser" after a long wait. Both are fixed: the game now waits behind the loading screen until the data is in ("Loading game data…" with a progress bar), and the data now comes compressed, so it's much faster. 🚀 Also, the Codex now only says what you need to know in the game – who came up with a planet or a plant is in the credits. And the Rainbow Planet finally has the right description: its islands float on the sea, not in the sky. 🌈

The network protocol stays at version 8 and the terrain generation at 20, so your saves and worlds simply carry on – and you can climb on every world, old ones included. An older game version can still join, but it can neither climb nor walk through tree crowns – so better update (the desktop game does that on start, and the browser is always current). All new texts are in all 14 languages. Have fun on the wall! 🧗
