This update rebuilds the landscape — literally. Real mountain ranges, table mountains with sheer walls, gorges that flood into fjords, three new planet types — and downwards it now goes more than two kilometres deep. 🚀

One thing first, because it matters: existing worlds change their surface once with this update. Terrain is computed straight from your world's seed — new formulas mean new shapes, just like the big worldgen overhaul in 0.9.0. Everything you built stays exactly where it is. So it's worth stepping outside after the update and taking a fresh look at the neighbourhood. 🗺️

Worlds dare to be dramatic now. Until today virtually every landscape topped out around 130 blocks — with room for more than double that under the atmosphere line. Now a small share of bodies rolls a genuinely extreme relief, with peaks reaching almost 280 blocks, automatically crowned in snow and ice. Ordinary worlds mix it up more too: the pool of regional landforms grows from five to eight — new are plateau terraces, razor-sharp extreme peaks and rift valleys — and every world now draws up to eight of them instead of at most five.

And there are landmarks to plan a base around. Dry, rocky worlds now carry the occasional table mountain: dead-straight walls with a board-flat plateau on top — made for a home with a view. Rarely, a world bears a single massif towering 120 to 220 blocks above its surroundings, visible from very far away. And rift chasms cut 50 to 130 blocks deep through the land — where they dip below sea level, they flood into fjord lakes. 🏔️

Three new planet types join the galaxy: Tablelands (monumental grand-mesa terraces), Badlands (finely ridged, colour-banded gully country) and the exotic Karst (sheer jungle towers with walkable crowns). Existing worlds keep their types — the new ones appear on planets you discover from now on.

And the deep kilometre. Digging used to stop at 512 blocks below zero — even though some worlds roll their foundation far deeper. The build band now reaches 2100 blocks below zero: "dig to the bedrock" finally works on every world. To make the trip worth it, ore density ramps up by as much as 60 % over the first ~600 blocks down — and below the lava table around 40 % of the cave world stays open and walkable: coherent molten regions instead of a lava bath everywhere. The familiar veins near the surface stay exactly where they were — going deep rewards, it never frustrates. ⛏️

Have fun re-surveying your worlds — and send us screenshots of your massifs! ✨
