Version 2026.8.6 – Lights on, camera rolling 💡
August 6, 2026
A small but satisfying one this time — no new content, just four fixes you'll feel immediately: light in every ship room, a prologue camera that stopped flying through mountains, and two browser bugs that could spoil a new player's very first minutes on glitch.fun. 🔧
Lights on in every ship room. If you've flown the Hammerhead you know the feeling: the bridge up front is bright, but the workshop and sleeping cabins sit in pitch darkness — and the Courier, Thunderbolt, Deathblock and Hauler were completely dark inside. The reason was almost funny: not a single ship layout contained even one interior lamp — all the light came from the navigation lights outside and only seeped in through the windows. Now every room automatically gets a ceiling lamp when a ship is built — on every ship type, the starter ship, and your self-built ships too. 💡
And light no longer stops at invisible borders. Ship hulls are internally split into 16-block sections, and lamp light used to end exactly at such a border — even a lit room could be dark on one half. Now every part of the hull knows all of the ship's light sources — on the landed ship, in flight, and in the build preview. ✨
The prologue camera learned to respect mountains. The opening scene on your very first spawn orbits your landed ship — until now on a blind circular path that, on a mountainside, could cut straight through the rock and let you stare through the terrain. Now the camera scans the orbit beforehand: it climbs higher when things get tight below, sweeps back and forth across the open arc instead of stubbornly circling, takes a high crane shot in craters — and if nothing is clear, it sticks with the calm panel opening. Late-loading terrain is watched continuously, too. 🎥
Browser players had it rough — two bugs down. On glitch.fun, clicking Singleplayer could bounce you back to the menu after a quarter of a minute with "Could not connect to the server" — the loading screen simply didn't wait for the built-in server to finish booting. And joining a hosted world tended to start with a fall into the void, because the ground under the spawn hadn't loaded yet — rescue teleport included, and then you fell again. Both fixed: the loading screen genuinely waits now, and joiners hover gently in place until the floor is there. 🌐
Short and sweet this time — enjoy the night flights with a lit cabin! And if this is the first time you actually see the inside of the Deathblock: we want screenshots! ✨
