This time it is all about doors – and about everything you build in the editors. 🚪 Until now every brush in the ship, station and town editors looked the same: one little green cube, whether it was a door, a bed, a campfire or a villager. From now on the preview shows you the real thing: the door the game will hang there – turned the right way and as wide as the gap between the walls, one to seven blocks –, both halves of a bed, the campfire as a flat slab and a standing figure where somebody is going to live. If a door cannot work in a spot, because there is no wall beside it or no room above it, the preview turns red and tells you why.

The editor now places beds with head and foot together (and takes both away when you tear one down), and props get their proper form by themselves: the rug lies flat, the flower pot becomes a pot, the ladder leans against the wall you clicked. 🛏️ Chests, mission boards, terminals, the ship's hatch frame and the decor of the cockpit and friends show their outlines – while you place them and in the finished build. Instead of the −/+ buttons that only knew the first nine forms, there is a form picker with every form in the game – table, chair, bench, fence, beam and the rest – and it works with a gamepad too. 🎮 And out in the world, a door in your hand shows a hologram exactly where you aim, already turned the way it will stand. No more guessing which way it will face.

While building, we noticed something else: 🏘️ in four kinds of village – by the river, with round stone houses, on stilts and behind a market wall – the spot where the front door belongs held a wall with a door painted on it. Of course it never opened. Now they are real doors, and the doorways are high enough to walk through. Villages that already stand in your world keep their old entrance; in a fresh world, or in places nobody has visited yet, you get the proper door. That is also why door blocks no longer show up among the blocks in the editor – the door lives with the markers. Only the station editor keeps them, as a hull airlock, because that is exactly what they are there: the airtight block in a station's outer hull.

And a big thank-you to Camembert1001! 🙏 Camembert1001 ran our Japanese texts through a checking tool of their own and spotted that two oxygen tanks showed a cryptic {count?100:100} code instead of a number in Japanese and Chinese. The number is back, our translation checks now catch mistakes like this in every language – and Camembert1001 is in the in-game credits now. The new editor texts come in all 14 languages, and the manual explains how a door finds its wall. The network protocol stays at 6, your saves stay as they are. Have fun building! 🚪
