Version 2026.9.5 – The big-build update: power to the far corner, a real waterfall, and double doors 🔌💧
September 10, 2026
Almost everything in this update came from players who built big — a spaceport, a walled compound, a perimeter far larger than anything the game had ever been asked to cover. And then they found that the game's helpers stop at the edge of a small base. 🔌 A sentry post shoots 14 blocks, but it only worked within 8 blocks of your base core — so on a compound of 80×80 it was useless exactly where you need it most. That is what the new Power Relay block is for: it carries your base core's power one zone further, and relays chain — core, relay, relay, post. So you can run a line into the furthest corner of your build, up to sixteen relays per base.
The second new block is the Waterfall Spout. 💧 A builder levelled an 80×80 field, placed water for a waterfall — and got a flood. That is not a malfunction: it is how water has behaved here since day one, and changing it would change every lake and every sea in every save. So there is a new block instead. The Waterfall Spout pours a column of water straight down — and only down. The fall never spreads sideways, and the cell it lands in does not spread either. Hang it over an edge with open air beneath it and you get a waterfall instead of a puddle that eats your build. Mine it and the column dries up. It stays a waterfall after a reload, too. 🌊
Then there are double doors that finally behave like double doors: two doors side by side used to swing the same way. Now the game spots the pair by itself and hangs the right-hand leaf on the outer post, so the two halves swing apart. 🚪 Put a door next to an existing one and they pair on the spot; take one away and the other goes back to being a single door. On top of that, every base owner can now use /basewalls — the command answers exactly the question you cannot answer by walking your perimeter: is there a gap somewhere, or is my compound simply larger than the 48-block reach? And when water finds its own way into a lava trench, the game now says what happened — the trench went dark, lava still glowed below, and it looked as though the game had simply stacked a block on top. It had not.
Nobody stays stuck any more. 🆘 If you sealed yourself inside your own ship's hull, there was no way out at all — there is a rescue for that now. The dig-out rescue itself sometimes left players hovering and unable to move, because it fired again every second; it fires once now, and lets go. And your own blocks under a parked ship are yours again. In the browser, hosted worlds stay up instead of dying seconds after they start — one world was restarted over two thousand times in eighteen hours. 😅 We also gave plants and animals a careful read-through: every biome now brings its own plants (new worlds), your farmed crops keep their own colour, and herds no longer end up in places nothing should stand in.
A big thank you to Paul and Noa from the school club, who made it into the credits this time — Paul for the club's second wave of browser reports, Noa for patiently testing one computer-room PC after another. 🙏 The protocol and your saves are unchanged — the desktop updates itself, the browser is always current. Build big! ✨
