Version 2026.9.6 – The new-planets update: four planets from the school club, rays and hydras, and water in every colour 🌈🐟
September 12, 2026
The third wave of ideas from the school club "Building Games with AI" is in the game — and this time they are whole planets. 🌈 Sophie's Rainbow Planet is almost all sea: rainbow water down to the depths, islands that float on the water with kelp forests hanging from their undersides, and a seabed of sand you can dig. On Damian's Flower Planet nothing grows but flowers, and exactly one creature lives there: the flowerling, a walking flower with a bloom for a head. It smiles as long as you leave the planet alone and brings patient visitors berries — mine something in front of it and the smile becomes a mouth full of teeth. 😬 Ben's Gaming Planet has karst caves, PC desks, and a monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and a PC tower the size of mountains. Then there is the Scrap Planet, where mining the scrap drops a random find, Lena's ice creature Leni, who lives only on snow and ice and hides, and the Paul flower, tall as a tree, with toxic petals.
And while we were at it, every new world gets a sixth generation of animals. 🐟 Rays glide on a wave that runs through their wings — under water close to the sea bed, and in the air as sky rays that hover, bank into turns and never land. Air fish scull through the air on their fins. There are animals with two or three heads — and on a titan, the hydra, every head on its own neck, each one breathing and calling by itself. Plus wings and fins in two or three pairs. And giant trees: three to five times the size of a normal tree, with trunks you can walk into and a hollow crown — a giant broadleaf, a giant conifer or a giant jungle tree, depending on where it grows. 🌳
Water has its own colour now. 💧 Every new world with a real sea rolls it: usually the classic blue, otherwise teal, green, yellow, violet or red — and the rain joins in, right down to the drops on your visor. On the Rainbow Planet it cycles through every colour. Old saves stay blue. 🚀 Picking a map destination from a landed ship no longer just moves you there: the ship takes off first, with the whole launch sequence, and the server sets you down on the pad it reserved for you. That half was contributed by ahmdkaml — a proper landing is the next step. 🌱 And there are saplings: one log and two fibre in your hands make two, stick one in the ground and a few minutes later a real tree grows out of it. Leaves can be picked up and placed again, too.
The avatar editor finally has a real undo — 32 steps, with redo, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y —, a "fill everything", and you can put on your saved outfits in the middle of the game now. 🎨 The helmet frame around your face can be painted (Justus's wish). Lyxette sent another round of reports right after 2026.9.5 — thank you! 🙏 Waterfall curtains draw completely, doors you built can be mined again, cave creatures no longer spawn in the rooms you dug, water surfaces no longer look like a mosaic, drop bundles follow the ground, and there are 32 power relays per base now. On her station, rooms west of the zero line have air again, and the crew no longer walks over a low parapet into vacuum. In the browser, one hosted world died on every start, over four thousand times in two days — because loading one kind of planet briefly needed more memory than the whole world is allowed. Fixed, and the small hitch on arriving at those planets on desktop went with it. 😅
The credits now list every child of the school club in one line: Ben, Damian, Lena, Marie, Nikita, Noa, Paul and Sophie — in all 14 languages. 🎓 The protocol and your saves are unchanged; everything new — planets, animals, giant trees, water colours — reaches new worlds only, and the worlds you built stay exactly as they are, block for block. The desktop updates itself, the browser is always current — please update before visiting a hosted world, or your ship will land on its own after take-off. Have fun exploring! ✨
