Version 2026.10.22 – Cosy: a ship that feels like home, rain on the hull, crackling campfires and a bed to rest in 🛋️🌧️

This time we asked ourselves: how could the game feel cosier? Out in space and on strange planets it may be rough – but your ship should feel like home. That is exactly what we worked on.

🛋️ Your ship is your home. As soon as you are aboard, or standing under a roof in your base, the picture turns warm: the planet's colours stay outside, shadows get softer, and the cabin light glows warm white by day and amber in the evening. Quarters, medbay, workshop and cargo hold now have warm ceiling lamps; only the cockpit keeps its cool working light. With the new Cosiness slider in the graphics settings you decide how strong it is. It only changes the look, not the game.

🌧️ Have a listen. Under a roof – in your ship, in a house or in a cave – you now still hear rain, wind and thunder, muffled. A campfire crackles, sends up sparks and smokes. At night every world sounds different: crickets where it is green and mild, frogs by the water, a soft wind on cold worlds and gentle chimes among crystals. And your ship's hatch closes with a quiet hiss.

🛏️ Rest in a bed. Press E on a bed, a Crew bunk or at your ship's quarters, and you lie down. Your view settles onto the pillow, the picture turns warm and dim, the music quiet, and VEGA wishes you a good night. Just like that, to take a breath – time does not pass faster and there is no bonus. Glowing mushrooms and plants now breathe slowly, and torches finally shine in real amber instead of pale yellow.

✋ A few fixes: the Hand Scanner flickered in your hand – its blue turned skin-coloured depending on the angle. That is gone, and you now hold both scanners by a handle. The Plasma Sword recoiled like a weapon that shoots – now you swing it like a blade. And with Reduce flashes, lightning in a storm is gentler too.

✨ Everything also comes to your existing worlds, and your existing ships get the warm lamps too – a lamp you rebuilt yourself stays as it is. Game and server should both be on 2026.10.22. The desktop game updates itself on start, and the browser version is always current. Make yourselves cosy! 🚀
