Version 2026.10.24 – Woodlands: ten new tree shapes, rarer glow and animals with eyes and horns 🌳🦓

Until now a world usually grew only one to four kinds of tree, and plants glowed almost everywhere. With this update new worlds get real forests, and glowing becomes something special again.

🌳 Real forests. There are ten new tree shapes: birch, oak, column tree, umbrella tree, blossom tree, tree fern, bottle tree, spiral tree, ball tree and the lantern tree. It grows only on luminous worlds and carries a Lantern fruit that is always safe to eat. Every kind of tree on a planet now really grows: a jungle world has about nine kinds of tree instead of four, and far fewer trees in the desert are dead. Mushroom and crystal trees finally grow, the Saguaro is a cactus of its own, and several kinds mix in a grove. Every world has three different tree crowns, plus Blossom leaves and a Pale wood log – with 28 new textures for crowns and bark.

✨ Glowing is special again. Until now plants glowed on almost every world. Now every world has a glow level: on four in ten worlds nothing glows on the surface, while one world in ten really shines. The Fifi plant with its glowing blossoms grows on only about every third world. By day the glow gets softer, and in the caves it keeps glowing.

🦓 Animals with eyes and horns. The animals now have real eyes – ten different kinds, from round eyes and slit eyes to compound eyes – and horns in colours of their own. There are 16 new coat patterns such as giraffe, dalmatian, cheetah, ladybird or poison frog, and glowing animals shine in rows of spots, veins or rings. Every planet dresses its animals to match: desert animals no longer wear coral skin. And in a herd every animal has its spots in a different place.

🔥 Fire, crates and data cubes. Lyxette burnt off the bushes so they would not grow back – and the giant tree burned with them. Now tree trunks no longer burn, only leaves and plants: after a forest fire the trunks stay standing. The Wood Box, the Bed and the Stretcher no longer catch fire either. And a data cube whose fragment you already have now rests quietly on the ground instead of circling on. Thank you, Lyxette! 🙏

🖥️ In the browser. On some graphics cards the HUD stood upside down in the browser – now it is the right way up again. Screenshots from the browser are real pictures again, and an animal no longer floats over a moat you have dug.

🌲 The new trees, the glow level and the rarer Fifi plant come on worlds you create from now on. The new crowns and bark, the animals, the fire and the data cubes come to every world, your existing ones too. Game and server must both be on 2026.10.24. The desktop game updates itself on start, and the browser version is always current. Have fun in the woods! 🚀
