Version 2026.10.26 – The explorer update: your own names for your planets, every tree its own wood and calm jellyfish over the ice 🪐🌲

This update comes almost entirely from your reports of yesterday and today. Justus and Jonah spent a whole afternoon playing together over LAN, and Lyxette took a close look at his spaceport again. Thank you, all three of you! 🙏

🪐 Your own names for your planets. Justus wanted to name planets himself – "you are the explorer, after all!" Now you can: a star system you have been to, and every planet or moon you have landed on, gets a name of your own under Tab → Map. Only you see it – on the map, on the radar, in the scanner, in the display at the top and while loading. The real name stays in small type beside it, so you can still arrange to meet your friends.

🌲 Every tree its own wood. Until now every tree gave the same wood and the same leaves. Now pale birches give you a Pale wood log, and the other kinds of leaves and the Blossom leaves land in your inventory as items of their own too. For crafting it makes no difference: every recipe with wood takes any kind, and the normal wood is used up first.

🪼 Calm jellyfish over the ice. Jonah saw two jellyfish over a frozen sea that kept jumping back and forth. The game did not look through the ice and didn't know where the water really ends. Now they float calmly above the ice. And in the Far view, frozen seas are now really ice, and far mountains have snow – Justus spotted that one.

🩹 The medkit says why. For Jonah the Field Medkit seemed to do nothing at all – but everyone was simply healthy. Now it tells you so: "Everyone near you is already healthy", and then it costs no energy either.

💡 Light, drones and animals. Lamp light no longer suddenly stops at an invisible edge after you build. Lyxette raised his spaceport by five or six blocks and found a Guardian drone in his tunnels – drones now always fly over the real ground. And animals no longer stand on his spaceport right after loading either.
