Version 2026.11.3 – The star chart update: planets without a seam, a galaxy chart you can zoom and stars in every colour 🗺️🌈
November 2, 2026
When you looked at a planet from space, there was always a seam at its pole. It bothered us for a long time – now it's gone. On top of that you can zoom the galaxy chart, you can see it in your landed ship too, and every galaxy finally has blue and red stars. Reports from Lyxette and Justus are in this update as well. Thank you both! 🙌
🪐 Planets without a seam. At a planet's pole the colours used to run into one point in jagged wedges. Now the planets have a globe of their own that is rounder too, and each pole wears a polar cap in the planet's own colour. The clouds thin out above it. The planets you see in the sky from the ground look the same now.
🔍 The galaxy chart zooms. In flight, M opens the chart, and the Hyperspace tab shows the whole galaxy. The mouse wheel zooms in where the pointer is, and dragging moves the map. With a gamepad or touch, use the − / + / Centre / All buttons. Names that would cover each other only appear once you zoom in – so even two stars sitting almost on top of each other come apart.
🛸 The galaxy in your landed ship. On Tab → Map you switch between System and Hyperspace above the system chart. Click a star and its system is picked – with its worlds, their details and the hyperjump. And with Set as destination you plan the flight before you even take off: after lift-off the radar shows the way, and the autopilot (P) flies you there.
✏️ Renaming in flight. A planet you have landed on, or a system you know, can now be named right on the flight chart – under Your own name — only you see it. The new name shows everywhere at once, in the list of systems too.
🌈 Stars in every colour. Until now a whole galaxy could end up with only white and yellow stars. Now the colours are dealt out: of every four systems, one shines blue, one orange or red, and two are white or yellow. New is the red dwarf – under it a world is a little darker and glows reddish.
🌱 Grass tufts only on grass. Since the last update the little grass tufts grew everywhere, even on Lyxette's field, his roof garden and his rock floor – six reports in one night. Now they grow only on natural grass, earth and mud under the open sky, never on anything built and no longer in tunnels. The little grey boxes are gone for good, and the tufts are no longer black at night. If you don't like them at all: Settings → Graphics → Ground details (grass tufts).
🔫 Reloading with both hands. Justus thought the new animations were cool, he only missed the second hand when reloading. Now, when you take out a gun, your free hand comes into view, pulls the slide back and disappears again.
❄️ No more hovering ship. Lyxette's ship was hanging in the air after loading. The reason: a blizzard had laid snow under his parked ship, on loading the ship stood on the snowdrift – and when the snow melted, it hovered. Now no snow settles in or under a parked ship any more, and anyone stuck in the ship's floor is lifted onto it.
💾 Your save stays as it is – nothing needs converting, and worlds and servers of 2026.11.2 keep running. The desktop game updates itself at start, and the browser is always current. Have fun exploring! 🚀
