Version 2026.11.8 – The fog-and-robot update: clouds to climb into, guardian armour and a robot friend 🌫️🤖

This time it gets foggy – and rather metallic. Every world now has a mist of its own, geysers and volcanoes really smoke, and Justus had a whole pile of ideas that are all in the game now: guardian armour, a robber disguise, flower jewellery and a robot friend of your own. Ben from the school club reported two things, and we fixed them right away. Thank you both! 🙌

🌫️ Every world has its own mist. How much mist there is, what colour it has and how often it comes is now up to the world itself – sometimes white or grey, sometimes lightly tinted to match the planet. The ground fog drifts in wisps with the wind instead of hanging around like an even veil, and big, soft fog banks float over the valleys. Climb a high mountain and suddenly you are standing right in the clouds, seeing only a few metres – and from the very top you look down on a sea of clouds. Gas giants are always hazy now. If you don't like it, switch it off under Settings → Graphics → Atmosphere effects.

💨 Real smoke. Smoke now looks like smoke: soft clouds lit by the sun, at the campfire too. Geysers steam all the time and erupt at random every few seconds – water vents spray droplets, volcanic vents spit ash and embers, and you can hear them hiss. Above every volcano crater a tall column of smoke rises, bent aside by the wind, and you can see it from far away.

🛡️ Justus' ideas: guardians, robbers and flowers. Scan drones, guardian robots, hunters and tank spiders now drop Guardian Plates. From them you build the Guardian Armour with little red lights, the Guardian Sword with a red hologram blade and the Guardian Laser Drill, which takes blocks apart one by one, very precisely. From Robber Cloth you sew a Robber Mask and a Robber Jacket – wear both, and a lone robber just looks you over and walks on. And from the Blue Blossom of the bellflowers you weave a Flower Wreath and Flower Bracelets: with them, traders give you up to 25 % off – and your allies nearby too.

🤖 A robot friend. Shut down the Guardian core in the finale, and everyone in your world gets a crate of their own with a Robot Core inside – and only its owner can open it. Together with some titanium ore, the Workshop turns it into a friendly Hunter Robot with light-blue lights. It follows you to every world, helps against machines and wild beasts and never needs food. If it gets knocked out, nothing is lost – its parts wait in a crate only you can open.

👽 Who are the UFOs? Justus wanted to know whether the UFOs are aliens. No: they are machines from the old exploration network that the Guardian core turned into hunters. That is why they are now called Guardian UFOs. Rune stones – with Justus' own music-note pattern – also take on the colours of the landscape they stand in now.

🪜 Ben's reports: wooden stairs and a floating ship. Ben wanted to build stairs out of wood – that didn't work until now. Now every cube material can take a form: wooden planks, logs, metal, ice, obsidian and even glass, which stays see-through as stairs or a ramp. And Ben's ship suddenly floated five blocks above the landing pad after the next login, because there was a staircase right beside it. Now the ship only looks at the ground underneath it – ships that already float settle back down on the next load.

🎚️ The graphics set themselves. On a new install on the PC, the game starts on Medium and measures how fast your computer is. It only switches to High once it has measured a real world – and never in the middle of play. If a world runs too slowly, a hint appears once to tell you what helps; the game never changes anything by itself. If you pick your graphics by hand, you keep them.

🛗 How to build the lift. The platform rests on top of the Lift Motor. For a level entry, dig a 3×3 pit one block deep and set the motor into the middle of its floor. Every Lift Stop stands at least two blocks higher than the motor. The manual, the Codex (with a new picture) and VEGA's tips now say so, and the game tells you when a motor or a stop sits in the wrong place.

💾 Your worlds stay as they are – nothing needs converting. The desktop game updates itself at start, the browser is always current. Have fun in the fog – and say hi to your robot! 🤖
